Description

Available Autumn 2017 - A spectacular hybrid oak tree, Quercus x turneri 'has bold, dark green, long, narrow leaves and is essentially evergreen. In severe winters it may become deciduous, shedding its leaves between late February and April. A majestic garden tree with ornamental bark once established.

  • Position: Full sun.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. Quercus x turneri seems to be a little more hardy than the Quercus x hispanica cultivars listed here and is more suitable for cooler areas.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Medium sized tree with a branching rounded crown .
    • Height: 15 m (50 ft)
    • Spread: 15 m (50 ft)
  • Notes:If planted in a warm, sheltered site Quercus x turneri will probably be evergreen all year round, barring an exceptionally severe frost in the winter time.
