Sequoiadendron

The Giant Redwood is one of the tallest and longest living trees in the world, capable of growing to 300 feet in the Sierra Nevada in California. Living up to 3,000 years, it has evolved to produce striking chestnut coloured, extremely thick, spongy, bark, which insulates it from natural forest fires. Suitable for most sites and soils, remarkably wind tolerant.
