A popular medium sized shrub which has pale-pink flowers in summer which are followed by large clusters of stunning, metallic-purple berries in autumn.

The young leaves are bronze-purple when young in Spring, turning mid green in the summer and developing purple-orange / bronze colours in autumn before falling. The combination of the foliage and vibrant berries makes this an excellent plant for a use in flower arranging. Native to China.

Usually has best display of flowers and fruit once established in a reasonably sunny position.

Can be grown well in a large container.
