Hydrangea macrophylla 'Generale Vicomtesse de Vibraye' is a rounded medium sized shrub with glossy dark green summer leaves and large mop head flowers of pink to pale blue in mid to late summer.

The flower colour depends on soil pH, using turning pale blue on more acidic soils and pink-purple on neutral or alkaline soils.

Best flower display will be seen if planted in a position with sun or partial shade.

Grows well in a large container.

Please be aware that the water supply on our nursery is alkaline and frequently our blue flowering Hydrangea varieties will have pinkish or purple flowers when they arrive with you, despite having been grown here in an acidic compost.

This colour will continue for several months after planting before changing to reflect the new soil conditions in your garden.
