Unusual in the UK, Quercus glauca is an evergreen oak which grows as a large, bushy shrub or eventually very small branching tree with glossy green leaves that have a glaucous underside. These leaves have a bronze tint when they first emerge in spring.

Best growth in a warm sunny position sheltered from cold winds.
