An unusual semi-evergreen oak, Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' has dark green, lobed leaves and grows with good vigour into a small to medium sized branching tree.

Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' can loose its leaves in severe winter weather but will keep them in mild conditions.


  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil. Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' will tolerate chalky soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' appreciates shelter from cold winter winds.
