An unusual species of oak with silvery young leaves which is native to a large area from South-east Italy to West Asia. Quercus ithaburensis subsp macrolepis 'Hemelrijk Silver' is a cultivar with lovely large, silvery-grey leaves. The new leaves are particularly colourful, while the older leaves turn deep grey green as they age.
Established plants produce wide, ornamental acorns. Quercus ithaburensis subsp macrolepis 'Hemelrijk Silver' grows to be a handsome small garden tree!
