Available Autumn 2017 - An unusual semi-evergreen oak, Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' has dark green, lobed leaves and grows with good vigour into a small to medium sized branching tree.

Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' can loose its leaves in severe winter weather but will keep them in mild conditions.

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil. Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' will tolerate chalky soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' appreciates shelter from cold winter winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
  • Habit: Medium sized tree with a branching rounded crown.
    • Height: 12 - 15 m (40 - 50 ft)
    • Spread: 10 - 12 m (32 - 40 ft)
  • Notes: Quercus x hispanica 'Waasland' do not generally transplant well and should be left undisturbed once planted in position.
