Description

Available Autumn 2017 - An exciting form of Daimyo Oak which originates at the famous Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum, Quercus dentata 'Sir Harold Hillier'  has huge, quite wide leaves that turn a warm fawn-brown in autumn. The summer leaf colour is dark green.

This and it's "brother plant", Quercus dentata 'Carl Ferris Miller' were originally collected as seeds in 1976 by the late Sir Harold Hillier who accompanied Robert & Jelena de Belder, (as in Hamamelis x intermedia 'Jelena'), on a trip to visit Carl Ferris Miller, creator of the famous Chollipo arboretum near Seoul, South Korea.

Quercus dentata 'Sir Harold Hillier' is a handsome small tree (although not for instant gratification!) suitable for most gardens and woodland areas.
