Native to Japan, Acer rufinerve is an unusual, small to medium sized tree grown for its distinctive grey-green bark covered with handsome fine silver lines. The leaves are three lobed, bright green in summer, with attractive tints of yellow and orange in autumn before falling.

Acer rufinerve is suitable for most gardens and although hardy would appreciated a position sheltered from strong winds.

  • Hardiness: Hardy. Appreciates shelter from strong winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
