New to us, this is a beautiful self-clinging, woody climber which has dark green, heart-shaped leaves and large clusters of lightly fragrant, white floral bracts in mid to late summer.  The leaves develop orange / yellow tints before falling in autumn.

Best in light dappled or partial shade.


  • Position: Partial or reasonably heavy shade.
  • Soil: Moist, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: July - September.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow until established then moderate.
  • Habit: Schizophragma hydrangeoides 'White Wedding' eventually grows to be a small to medium sized self-clinging climbing plant.
    • Height: Eventually up to 4 - 5 m (13 - 16 ft). Can be pruned to keep at a smaller size if required.
    • Spread: 4 m (12 ft)
