Prunus lusitanica is a large evergreen shrub or very small, branching tree once established, often used for hedging or screening with glossy dark green leaves. The young shoots have are reddish in colour which contrasts well against the dark green leaves. Candle-like spikes of white flower appear on the branches in early summer.

Excellent as a hedge once established. For a dense hedge plant at approx 80 cm apart.
