Prunus pendula 'Pendula Rubra'

(Weeping Cherry) A small weeping tree which is easily trained to your required height, Prunus pendula 'Pendula Rubra' has when established, cascading branches covered with masses of rich pink flowers in early April. The green summer leaves develop orange and red tints before falling in autumn.

Tough and hardy this is suitable for small gardens and ideally should be trained vertically up a supporting bamboo cane to the required height. When it reaches this height do not tie in any more and allow it to weep to the floor.

A specimen in our woodland garden (shown in the photo) has been trained vertically up a supporting bamboo cane to 10ft+, however they can be kept much smaller if required.
