(Black-leaved Ninebark) New to us, this is a small to medium sized, deciduous shrub with striking dark purplish-black summer leaves. Clusters of pinkish-white flowers stand out well against the dark leaves in summer. The leaves have purple and orange tints before falling in autumn.

Grows well in sun or shade but usually has the most vibrantly colourful leaves if planted in a position with plenty of sun. Can be grown well in a large container if required.
