A colourful hardy shrub, Physocarpus opulifolius 'Aurea' has eye-catching lime green (in shade) or golden yellow (in sun) leaves in spring and summer. These leaves are not prone to burning in sunlight and established plants have masses of white flowers in mid-summer.
A magnificent foliage plant, this looks particularly good when planted as part of a mixed border.
