An unusual medium sized, deciduous tree which gradually develops pale bronze and white peeling bark once established. The summer leaves are dark green in colour turning golden-yellow in autumn before falling and can stay on the tree for a long time in the absence of strong winds or storms.

Best autumn colour once established if planted in a position with plenty of sun.


  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Most well drained, fertile soil. Will tolerate mild alkaline soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous
  • Habit: Medium sized to large, slender, branching tree.
