An unusual small to medium sized birch with the immature wood being a glossy, dark-brown in colour peeling to pure white once established. Originally collected in the Uttar Pradesh province of India.

Best bark colour once established if planted in a position with plenty of sun.

Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
Soil: Any fertile soil.
Hardiness: Hardy.
Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
Habit: Betula utilis var. jacquemonti 'Ramdana River' grows to be a small or eventually medium sized, slender tree.
