Unusual in the UK, Amelanchier alnifolia 'Honeywood' is a deciduous large rounded shrub or eventually very small tree with clusters of pretty, small white flowers in Spring. These flowers are followed by dark purple, tasty fruit in summer.  These fruit can be eaten straight of the tree or used in cooking, jams or jellies. The green summer leaves turn shades of purple and orange before falling in autumn.

A superb ornamental fruiting tree which also is good for wildlife.
