Alnus cordata is a handsome and vigorous, slender deciduous tree with bright green rounded leaves and an upright, conical habit when young, spreading a little once mature. Established plants have long dark yellow catkins. Native to parts of Southern Italy.

A fairly wind tolerant tree suitable for a sunny positiion and most soils.

Position: Full sun.
Soil: Any fertile soil. Will tolerate damp conditions
Hardiness: Hardy.
Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
Habit: Alnus cordata grows to be a medium to tall tree with a conical tree.
