A new and versatile evergreen shrub ideal for hedging, Ilex crenata 'Dark Green' has box-like dark green leaves and is unaffected by the various diseases afflicting Buxus sempervirens (Box).

Ilex crenata 'Dark Green' can be used for hedging, topiary and also makes an excellent container plant which can be pruned hard if required.

Position: Full sun or shade.
Soil: Any fertile soil.
Hardiness: Hardy.
Rate of Growth: Moderate.
Habit: Ilex crenata 'Dark Green' is a small to medium sized, densely branching shrub if left unpruned.
- Height: up to 3 m (10 ft).
