New to us, Hakonechloa macra 'Sunflare' is a clump forming, deciduous grass with vibrant golden-green leaves turning slowly red at the tips as the summer progresses. Greenish flower heads may also last into winter turning bronze in autumn.

Best in full sun or dappled shade in a position sheltered from strong wind.

Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
Soil: Any fertile soil. Avoid soils prone to flooding.
