Escallonia 'Golden Carpet'

A lovely dwarf, spreading evergreen shrub which has light golden-lime green leaves and masses of dark purple-red tubular flowers on the branches in summer and early autumn.

Best flower display and foliage colour in a position with plenty of sun and shelter from strong winds. Avoid planting in cold, exposed areas.

• Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
• Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Escallonia 'Golden Carpet'  requires protection in cold winters and is not suitable for planting in an cold, exposed garden. 
• Flowering Period: July - Sept.
• Flower Colour: Purple-pink
• Rate of Growth: Slow.
• Habit: Escallonia 'Golden Carpet'  grows to be a small, spreading shrub once established.
