Rare in the UK, Cornus wilsoniana is native to the forests and woods of Southern China, growing to be an elegant small, branching tree with ornamental peeling white and grey bark once established. Clusters of small white flowers in late spring are followed by blue-black berries in late summer and autumn. The leaves are dark green in colour.

Sought after for its impressive bark once mature, Cornus wilsoniana is most suitable for a warm, sunny position sheltered from strong winds.

  • Hardiness: Reasonably Hardy. Requires shelter from cold winds and protection from late spring
