A handsome architectural plant, Acanthus spinosus has large glossy, dark green leaves which are deeply divided and in late summer, large spikes of foxglove-like flowers in mauve and white. Superb as a back of border plant to provide height and structure and a good foil for grasses and other herbaceous plants.
