Information Only - A rare species of hornbeam native to China, Carpinus fangiana has eye-catching veined, finely toothed, dark green leaves (up to 20 cm long). Established plants can also produce long, pale green catkins up to 25 - 30 cm tall.

  • Habit: In the UK, Carpinus fangiana usually grows to  be a small branching tree.
    • Height: 6 m (20 ft)
    • Spread: 4 m (13 ft)
