A lovely compact shrub, Viburnum plicatum 'Watanabe' has layers of layers of white, lacecap flowers in early to mid summer and is slightly smaller in size than the similar Viburnum plicatum 'Maresii'. The leaves are dark green with red and purple tints before falling in autumn. 

Viburnum plicatum 'Watanabe' is an eye-catching flowering shrub and although tolerant of some shade will usually flower best in a sunny position. It also can be grown well in a large container if required.
