Tetrapanax papyrifer 'Rex'

A fairly vigorous, suckering, semi-deciduous large shrub once established known for developing huge, deeply lobed leaves up to 60 - 80 cm across in a favourable position. The leaves are very striking and grey-green in colour. Best in sun or partial shade with damp but reasonably well drained soil.

In the UK this needs a warm position with shelter from wind and possibly protection from cold in winter unless you are in a very mild area.

• Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous
• Habit: Large branching, rounded shrub once established.
  • Height: 3 - 4 m (10 - 13 ft). Possibly larger in milder areas.
  • Spread: 3 - 4 m (10 - 13 ft).
