A handsome plant, x Sycoparrotia semidecidua is semi-evergreen with dark green, oval leaves which stay on the plant in mild winters. The flowers have chocolate coloured buds, opening into lovely Parrotia like, yellow & orange flowers in early spring at a similar time of year to Hamamelis (Witch Hazel).

A rare and early flowering garden shrub!

  • Soil: Moist or well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. x Sycoparrotia semidecidua appreciates protection from cold winter winds.
