Sophora 'Sun King'

A handsome and elegant, bushy, evergreen shrub with dark green pinnate (feather-like) leaves and clusters of large, drooping golden-yellow flowers in late winter into Spring. Very suitable for growing against a wall or fence and can be grown i a large container if required. Enjoys a very sunny, warm position with shelter from strong winds and this is not suitable for cold, exposed areas.

• Position: Full sun or very light, dappled shade.
• Soil: Well drained, fertile soils.
• Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Requires a sheltered, warm position and possible protection in very cold winters unless your garden is particularly mild.
• Flowering Period: March - May.
• Flower Colour: Yellow
• Rate of Growth: Moderate.
• Habit: Sophora japonica eventually grows to be a medium sized to large, bushy shrub.
