(Black Elder) A handsome garden shrub, Sambucus nigra 'Thundercloud' has dark, chocolate-purple leaves which colour up best in a sunny position and large clusters of rich pinkish-white flowers in summer.

Although tolerant of some shade, best foliage colour and flower display is usually seen when planted in a position with plenty of sun. Can be grown in a large container.
