Rhaphiolepis umbellata 'Southern Moon'

New to us this is an unusual and striking, small or eventually medium sized evergreen shrub with a dense mound-forming habit and masses of pretty white flowers in late spring. The leaves are dark green in colour and have an attractive wavy edge.

Best flower display if planted in a sunny position with shelter from strong winds. May be grown in a large container.

• Position: Full sun.
• Soil: Any reasonably well drained, fertile soil. Can be grown in a container with good quality general purpose compost.
• Hardiness: Somewhat hardy. Requires shelter from cold winter winds.
• Flowering Period: April - June
