Nandina domestica 'Sunset'

New to us, this is a charming small to medium sized, upright, semi-evergreen shrub with elegant, divided dark purple-red young leaves which gradually turn to dark green in summer.

Established plants develop clusters of dainty white flowers in summer followed by red berries in autumn once established.

Superb in sun or some shade and grows very well in a large container.

• Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
• Soil: Moist, well drained, fertile soil. Not suitable for waterlogged areas.
• Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. Nandina domestica 'Sunset' requires protection from cold winter winds and may loose its leaves in a severe winter.
• Flowering Period: June - July.
• Flower Colour: White
• Rate of Growth: Moderate.
• Habit: Nandina domestica 'Sunset' grows to be a small to medium sized, upright shrub.
