(Chinese Mahonia) Fabulous, small and slow growing,  Mahonia gracilipes has eye-catching purple-red flowers and was first introduced to the United Kingdom by Roy Lancaster in 1980.

The underside of the long, graceful leaves are chalky white and Mahonia gracilipes has delightful, purple-red flowers with creamy-yellow centers in late summer or autumn rather than spring (the more traditional flowering time for Mahonia).

A lovely, interesting and rare garden plant.
