Hydrangea anomala 'Crûg Coral'

New to us, Hydrangea anomala 'Crûg Coral' is a very handsome deciduous climber which has dusky red flower bracts initially in early summer fading to creamy-pink later on. The leaves are dark green in colour turning yellow and bronze in autumn before falling.

When established, this makes a stunning, self-clinging wall plant and can also grow as an interesting and unusual ground cover plant in the absence of a support up which to climb.

• Position: Full sun or shade (best reddish flower colour in a position with reasonably amounts of sunlight, more pale in shady areas).
• Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
• Hardiness: Hardy
• Flowering Period: May - July.
• Flower Colour:Dusky red - creamy-pink
• Rate of Growth: Slow until established then moderate.
• Habit: Hydrangea anomala 'Crûg Coral' grows to be a large, self-clinging climbing plant.
