For height initially, it is best to tie the leading shoot to an upright bamboo cane until it reaches a height you are happy with, after which is can be left to its own devices to branch out. despite the name, the branches generally do not stiffly weep and rather arch out horizontally.
Best in full sun with a little shelter from strong winds for longest lasting autumn colour display.
