A new introduction from China, Fargesia scabrida 'Asian Wonder' has lovely narrow, dark green leaves with a dainty, oriental appearance which contrast well against the orange-brown culm sheaths on the stem.

An unusual, fountain shaped bamboo if planted alone or an excellent screening or hedging specimen when planted in a group. Non invasive.

Position: Full sun or partial shade.
Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
Hardiness: Hardy.
Rate of Growth: Vigorous.
Habit: Fargesia scabrida 'Asian Wonder' grows to be a tall, clump forming bamboo.
