(Cock's Comb Beech or Curly-leaved Beech) Rare form which has been in cultivation since the early nineteenth century, Fagus sylvatica 'Cristata' has dark green, cloud-like clumps of deeply lobed and curled leaves. These leaves are unusual in appearance and give the tree a unique appearance once established.

Slow growing and not for instant gratification but a very eye-catching small tree once established.
