A slender and attractive branching treeonce established, the leaves of Fagus sylvatica 'Tricolor' usually look at their best when viewed against a backdrop of darker evergreen plants!

  • Soil: Well drained, fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Slow initially then moderate.
  • Habit: Eventually a medium sized, branching tree.
    • Height: 12 m (40 ft).
    • Spread: 8 m (26 ft).
  • Notes: Fagus sylvatica 'Tricolor' will grow well in a large container for several years before planting out if required. This plant was formerly called Fagus sylvatica 'Roseamarginata'
