A handsome large shrub or eventually very small tree, Cotoneaster ogisui has fresh bright green leaves in spring, gradually darkening in summer and masses of red berries once established. The berries are very popular with birds.

Although sometimes evergreen in mild areas, this does tend to be deciduous with us in Derbyshire and so will drop its leaves with an attractive display of orange, yellow and gold autumn colour in October. Unusual in the UK.

Although tolerant of some shade, best fruit display once established if planted in a position with plenty of sun and shelter from strong winds.
