Cornus kousa 'Satomi Compact'

New to us, this is slow growing, compact selection of Dogwood which has masses of large bracts in late spring and early summer, creamy initially and quickly turning pink. Dark green summer leaves turn purple and orange in autumn before falling.

Very similar to the famous Cornus kousa 'Miss Satomi' only smaller and slower growing.

Best flower bracts display in a position with full sun and grows well in a large container. Slow growing and not for instant gratification.

• Notes: The flowering of Cornus kousa 'Satomi Compact' is somewhat dependant upon the previous years summer weather. After a long hot summer, the following years flowering will be magnificent and after a cold, wet summer the following years flowering will be poor or sporadic.
