Cornus kousa 'Rasen'

Unusual in the UK, this is a tall shrub or eventually small, elegant tree with masses of creamy-white flower bracts in summer which gradually fleck with pink as they age. This selection does develop particlarly eye-catching orange and red fruit when planted in a hot position. Dark green summer leaves developing orange and red autumn colours.

Best flower bract display once established in a sunny position and grows well in a large container.

• Notes: The flowering of this Cornus is somewhat dependent upon the previous years summer weather. After a long hot summer, the following years flowering will be magnificent and after a cold, wet summer the following years flowering will be poor or sporadic.
