Invaluable summer flowering shrubs. Mainly evergreen (although they can sometimes loose leaves in extreme cold) and lime tolerant but dislike shallow soils over chalk.

Ceanothus are excellent when trained against a sunny wall or fence and any pruning should be done after flowering.
