An unusual cut-leaf tree originating from south-eastern Europe, Platanus orientalis 'Digitata' has very interesting, green, deeply cut leaves with 5 distinctive lobes.

Once established, it develops the familiar, eye-catching, flaking grey bark which can be seen on many London Planes in large cities throughout the country. A majestic large garden or parkland tree.

Supplied Size: 3L pots (approx 3 years old, 30 - 40 cm tall) - very small number of young plants available this year

  • Position: Full sun.
  • Soil: Any fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Flowering Period: June.
  • Flower Colour: Pale yellow
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
  • Habit: Platanus orientalis 'Digitata' will eventually grow into a large, branching tree.
    • Height: 25 m (82 ft)
    • Spread: 18 m (60 ft)
  • Notes: Platanus orientalis 'Digitata' is tolerant of atmospheric pollution, compacted soils and generally grows very well in urban areas.
