(Variegated Coastal Redwood) An unusual evergreen, branching shrub or eventually small, often multi-stemmed tree if left to its own devices which has dark green, fast growing shoots, each beautifully tipped with creamy white variegation.
An unusual plant which when pruned hard forms a medium sized spreading shrub with fast growing shoots, each beautifully tipped with creamy white. If left unpruned it will eventually grow into a tree-like although sometimes quite branching redwood but with lovely glaucous-grey foliage.
Very eye-catching once established, most suitable for a position in sun or light, dappled shade with shelter from strong winds.
- Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
- Soil: Moist or well drained, fertile soil. Sequoia sempervirens 'Adpressa' does not enjoy shallow, chalky soils.
- Hardiness: Hardy. In the U.K Sequoia sempervirens 'Adpressa' appreciates some shelter from cold winds.
