(Lilac) A handsome upright, deciduous shrub or eventually very small tree with panicles of scented double magenta purple flowers in late spring or early summer. These flowers are popular with insects. The summer leaves are bright green in colour.

Usually has its best best display of flowers in a position with plenty of sun. Can be grown in a large container.
