An unusual plant which when pruned hard forms a medium sized spreading shrub with fast growing shoots, each beautifully tipped with creamy white. If left unpruned it will eventually grow into a tree-like although sometimes quite branching redwood but with lovely glaucous-grey foliage.

Very eye-catching once established, most suitable for a position in sun or light, dappled shade with shelter from strong winds.

  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Moist or well drained, fertile soil. Sequoia sempervirens 'Adpressa' does not enjoy shallow, chalky soils.
  • Hardiness: Hardy. In the U.K Sequoia sempervirens 'Adpressa' appreciates some shelter from cold winds.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate to vigorous.
  • Habit: Sequoia sempervirens 'Adpressa' can be pruned to be kept as a shrub if required or eventually grows into a small tree if left unpruned.
    • Height: 4 - 5 m (13 - 16 ft)
    • Spread: 3 - 4 m (10 - 13 ft)
