A slow growing and unusual willow, Salix fargesii has polished mahogany coloured bark, glossy dark green leaves and bold upright catkins in spring. Particularly attractive in autumn and winter when the shape and colour of the bare stems can be clearly seen!
Best in sun or dappled shade. Tolerant of damp, free draining conditions but avoid waterlogged areas.
