A popular and self fertile cultivar, Gooseberry 'Invicta' has heavy crops of pale green fruit with an excellent flavour that ideal for use in pies or jam making. The plant itself is vigorous and tends to spread a little as it grows. The leaves are somewhat mildew resistant.


  • Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
  • Soil: Any fertile soil.
  • Hardiness: Hardy.
  • Rate of Growth: Moderate.
  • Habit: Gooseberry 'Invicta'  grows to be a medium sized, branching shrub.
    • Height: 1.5 m (5 ft) if left unpruned.
    • Spread: 1.5 m (5 ft) if left unpruned.
  • Notes: Pick the fruit in mid to late summer. They can be frozen and used later or eaten while fresh.
