A vigorous conifer, Pseudotsuga menziesii is valued for its timber and when mature is a tall tree, with impressive down-swept branches and thick, corky bark. Evergreen with dark green foliage.

A good choice of tree for woodland or parkland planting and particularly effective when planted in groups. For best habit and size once established ideally plant in a sunny position with shelter from strong winds.
