(Formosan Cherry) An unusual ornamental small cherry tree with masses of flamboyant, deep pinkish-red, bell-shaped flowers covering the branches in spring. The dark green summer leaves have purple and orange tints in autumn before falling.

Most suitable for a sunny position, ideally with shelter from strong winds. Prefers a south-west or west facing position.

Product Details

Position: Full sun or light, dappled shade.
Soil: Any fertile soil but avoid waterlogged areas.
Hardiness: Reasonably hardy. Avoid planting in frost pockets and protect young leaves from late frost when juvenile in Spring.
Flowering Period: April.
Rate of Growth: Moderate.
Habit: Prunus campanulata 'Felix Jury' grows to be a small rounded branching tree once established.
- Height: up to 4 - 5 m (13 - 16 ft)
- Spread: 3 - 4 m (10 - 13 ft)

Notes: Prunus are known for their vigorous root systems and should not be planted over drains or close to house foundations.
