(Formosan Cherry) An unusual ornamental small cherry tree with masses of flamboyant, deep pinkish-red, bell-shaped flowers covering the branches in spring. The dark green summer leaves have purple and orange tints in autumn before falling.

Most suitable for a sunny position, ideally with shelter from strong winds. Prefers a south-west or west facing position.
